Go for the Green putting contest
and Sunday Brunch

Test your skills on the putting greens with a little individual action. Catalina by Design will organize this event prior to a brunch or Gala luncheon at the historic Country Club. Let the Bobby Jones come out of you! This is also the spring training camp of the Chicago Cubs and you can see all those historical moments in the Sports bar.

Something Fishy

Climb aboard the Seaview as you travel down the coast enjoying cocktails and light appetizers before returning to the green pier for the famous Island Fish Fry put on by Avalon Seafood.

Calypso Cruise

This hospitality cruise embarks from the Green Pier near sunset and travels down the coast as you sip on cocktails and dine on small plate appetizers while listening to Reggae music. (A corporate favorite)

Nascart Photo Finish

A humorous but challenging timed golf cart event (2-hours max) that pits teams against one another in a race to collect clues, retrieve island artifacts, and solve a puzzling brain teaser. This winning combination that allows everyone to experience the island’s quirkiness and still participate in a small group brain trust. A great team-building exercise that still allows time to experience the other activities and tours that has made Catalina a perennial favorite for corporate and leisure trips. Disposable cameras provided for each team with developing included before departing the island.

Soft Sports Mania

A gentle sporting contest that consists of 3 types of activities involving ball play in an accuracy event team trust and not a timed event. Teams of 3 to 4 players will participate in free-throw shooting contest, a skee-ball contest at the Mardi gras arcade, and lastly a round of miniature golf. As the teams finish, everyone will end up at Antonio’s for a classic Pizza Party where the winning teams will be announced. This is based on a point system.

Catalina’s Amazing Rally

(Only for the truly competitive) -For an energetic outing, Catalina by Design will personally tailor multiple destinations and transportation options on the island that will challenge everyone’s mental and physical limits. This event will involve driving golf carts, bike riding, kayaking, running and finally solving riddles. Estimated 2 hours with teams of 4 people.

Karried away with Karaoke

A 2-hour event (special times will apply) with a delicious luncheon in the Mardi gras themed restaurant, the El Galleon. This event always brings out the ham in everyone! For those closet rock stars, here is your chance. Beads, beats and brews for everyone!

Old Tyme Bike and BBQ

Everyone will helmet up and spend some time cruising through the streets of Avalon for some island exercise and then re-group at the popular Casino Dock Café for an unlimited barbecue buffet on an old-fashioned drum grill. A personal grill chef will prepare the mouth-watering meats right on the dock and as always Pedro is there offering up his signature bar service. After all, it is called Pedro’s Bar and the locals know it is the place to be!

The Classic Club

A stylized Patio Party wine-tasting with luncheon at the lovely Catalina Country Club including an Avalon City tour upon arrival on the island. The group will be picked up at the boat dock and whisked off in a coach for a brief but informative narrative of Avalon and the hills that surround the island. Then you will be dropped off at the Clubhouse, a jewel of Catalina lore. This historic but well appointed clubhouse is filled with Island culture and upscale cuisine. Each guest will be treated with a taste of various wines for each course. The menu will be created especially for your event by the chef of Cuisine’s Kathleen Bombard. This is a day event only.

Descanso Delight

A rip roaring Island flavored beach party with Krazy Kayak races. Or you can simply have the barbecue on the patio and watch people kayak while you sip the island signature drink, buffalo milk and know that you won’t be karried away by the currents but possibly by the island enchantment as you sit under the swaying palm trees.

2nd option

The group will glide down the island’s rugged coast in a 2-man kayak and experience the shores and coves of this island. Looking towards land from the water will bring a new perspective to nature. Returning to land, the group will see that the island chef has been busy preparing a sumptuous outdoor buffet with your selected entrees plus a core menu offering of fresh garden salads, fresh tropical fruits, molasses baked beans, home style potato salad, homemade cookies, and unlimited soft drinks.
